The 90-day appeal process for the new Preliminary Flood Insurance Rate Maps (FIRM) started July 1.

The proposed maps may show additions or modifications of the Special Flood Hazard Areas or the areas that would be inundated by the base (1 percent annual chance) flood, base flood elevations or depths, flood zone designations or regulatory floodways.

Before the new maps become effective FEMA provides community officials and citizens an opportunity to appeal the proposed flood information at: (You can choose Scott County or Search by Address on the top right box) or at
Appeals will be accepted on the basis of incorrect determinations that are scientifically or technically incorrect. Appeals with documentation need to be submitted to the City of Davenport before the end of the 90-day appeal period. Flood insurance requirements or rates may change with the new maps; if you have questions about your flood insurance please contact your insurance agent.
The City of Davenport will adopt the new flood insurance maps once they become final as a requirement for participation in the National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP).
If you have questions about the new FIRM or process please contact the City Floodplain Managers at 563-326-7765.
