Learn how the past can help protect and preserve our water and environment for generations in this four-part backyard conservation series.  Attend one or all sessions.

Enjoy interactive learning with light refreshments and conversation at each of our workshops.  

All workshops are held at the Davenport Public Works Center located at 1200 E 46th Street.  

  • Raingardens and Biocells - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 9th

    This workshop will walk you through what they are and what the design requirements are to incorporate one into your own landscape.

  • Native Plants, Prairie and Pollinator Friendly Landscapes - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 16th

    Learn about plants native to our area and their benefits, including habitat essential to improving and maintaining our pollinator population.

  • Native and Pollinator Friendly Trees and Shrubs - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 23rd 

    This workshop covers trees and shrubs native to our area.  Proper planting and maintenance will also be covered.

  • Soil Quality Restoration - 5:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Thursday, May 30th

    Boy what the earth beneath our feet can do when it is healthy and teaming with microorganisms.  Find out how soil quality restoration can help improve any lawn.  Techniques for restoring soil quality will be discussed, and a live demonstration will be performed.
