AUGUST 18, 2020 — Aldermen will consider Trick or Treat hours, a bid for reconstruction of the parking lot east of Perry Street and south of River Drive, as well as accepting the Adler Theatre stage replacement project among other items on Wednesday’s Committee of the Whole agenda.

These items will be voted on at the Aug. 26 City Council meeting.

In recent years, Davenport held trick-or-treat on Halloween, and Oct. 31 falls on a Saturday this year so City staff proposes earlier and extended trick-or-treat hours of 4:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. Due to COVID-19 and to stay consistent with other large events in the City, Staff proposes not holding this year’s Halloween parade.

The bid of $390,188.20 by Hawkeye Paving Corporation of Davenport for reconstruction of the parking lot east of Perry Street and south of River Drive will also be considered this cycle. The bid by Hawkeye Paving was one of five received for the project that includes reconstruction of associated sidewalks and ADA ramp construction.

Earlier this year, the City Council approved $83,205 to replace the floor. The flooring, facing regular wear and tear, was last replaced in 2004. The project will also evened out the floor over the orchestra pit.
