Government Accessible to Everyone Project

Description/Goal

Cross-departmental team focused on undertaking a holistic approach to refreshing the City's brand management strategies while using the evolving communication and engagement tools to most effectively engage stakeholders.

Current Update

In 2Q, the administration department hired the new digital media coordinator. This is a new position to the communications division. The communications representatives from all departments now meet on a monthly basis to coordinate the monthly editorial calendar for social media and discuss other communications issues throughout the city. As of July 1, the City is no longer broadcasting on Mediacom's public access channels. All City Council meetings, along with board and commission meetings, are accessible to view via the City's website. Guide Studios has been selected as the firm for the City's rebranding project. Work with Guide Studios will begin in July and is expected to be complete in October. .

Previous Status

In 1Q-19, staff selected Granicus to provide streaming services tied into the Novus agenda software system. This system will replace the current public access channels and launch after technological upgrades have been complete in the Council Chambers. An RFP for new recording technology in Council Chambers and additional City facilities was issued for upgrades and work is anticipated to begin 3Q.
