Opportunity Zone Marketing

Description/Goal

Partner with Downtown Davenport Partnership and QC First on the development of a prospectus and associated marketing materials for the federal opportunity zone program.

Current Update

Davenport, along with the Downtown Davenport Partnership have been working with the Quad Cities Chamber of Commerce in creating a Marketing Prospectus. A preview of this prospectus was shown to city staff on June 26th, 2019. The prospectus is turning out to be a beautiful marketing piece that will highlight the advantages and opportunities within Davenport for investment and economic growth and improvement. The QC Chamber expects to have the prospects completed by early August 2019, with a reveal luncheon for stakeholders tentatively scheduled for late August 2019.

Previous Status

The City of Davenport was approved and awarded two federal opportunity zone tracts. The intent of these zones is to encourage economic growth and revitalization in low income census tracts and neighborhoods. The city is working with regional partners to created a Quad City wide marketing prospectus. Staff has provided information on development sites within the opportunity zone tracts to QC First for the development of this prospectus and has reviewed a rough first draft of the prospectus.
