City Council will consider declaring Gaines Street south of the Canadian Pacific tracks and fronting Modern Woodmen Park also be known as “Royals Way” in honor of the local baseball team’s recent affiliation with the Kansas City Royals. The Royals made the announcement in early December that they were inviting four communities to become Kansas City affiliates, one of those being the Quad Cities.
