A surety bond is required for all Contractors.  Licensed General Contractors shall furnish a bond in the sum of $25,000. Electrical, Mechanical, Plumbing and Sign Contractors shall furnish a bond in the sum of $5,000.

Bond Checklist

• Bond must be on City of Davenport Bond form.
• Bond must be signed by the principal with his or her official title designated.
• Name of the corproation must be written or typed above signature of the principal. If not a corporation, principal must be named as "Owner's Name" dba "Company Name".
• Power of attorney must be attached and signed by company or agent. Power of attorney must show same execution as the bond.

The original bond must be mailed to the Public Works Department with the bonding company's seal affixed. Mail bonds to:  Davenport Public Works, Building, 1200 E 46th St, Davenport, IA 52807.
