Officer Joshua Derner was born in Virginia to a military family. Joshua grew up in Germany where he lived for ten years. He graduated from Patch American High School in 2014. He received a Bachelor’s Degree from Iowa State University with majors in Criminal Justice and Sociology. In college, Joshua worked as a Community Service Officer for the Iowa State University Department of Public Safety prior to obtaining employment with the Davenport Police Department. While attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, Joshua received the Woodard Award for earning the highest academic average in the class and the 300 Point Club Award for physical fitness.

Officer Cory Hughes grew up in Scott County, Iowa and graduated from North Scott High School in 2015. Following high school, Cory attended Scott Community College. In 2017, he received an Associate’s Degree from Scott Community College with a major in Criminal Justice. Cory was active in athletics in high school. In his free time, he enjoys being active in physical fitness, golfing and fishing.

Officer Grant Killinger was raised in Port Byron, Illinois and is a 2009 graduate of Riverdale High School. Following high school, Grant enrolled in the Criminal Justice program at Sauk Valley College in Dixon, Illinois where he also competed in the College’s Cross Country athletic program. In 2011, Grant transferred to Western Illinois University – Macomb Campus, where he completed his Bachelor’s Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration. After graduation, Grant was hired by the Illinois Department of Corrections, and worked as a Correctional Officer at the East Moline Correctional Center. Grant was hired by the Rock Island County Sheriff’s Office in 2015, where he worked as a Deputy Sheriff within the patrol division, until he was hired by the Davenport Police Department.
  
Officer Nate Missimer was born and raised in Burlington, New Jersey. He attended high school in Columbus, New Jersey, afterwards attending Burlington Community College obtaining his Associate’s Degree in Business Management in 2007. Nate then moved to Fairbanks, Alaska and began his law enforcement career with the federal government as a Department of the Army Civilian Police Officer. Nate then worked briefly for the North Pole Police Department before moving to Davenport, Iowa in 2015. He was hired by the Tipton Police Department in Cedar County in 2016, where he obtained his Iowa Law Enforcement Academy certification through examination. Nate worked full-time for Tipton PD, part-time for Wilton PD, and seasonally for Scott County Conservation until he was offered employment with the Davenport Police Department.

Officer Anh John Nguyen was born and raised in Davenport, Iowa. He graduated from Davenport West High School in 2012. Anh John received his Associate’s Degree in Criminal Justice from Kaplan University. While in college, Anh John worked for Super Target as a Loss Prevention Officer and following that he worked for Trinity Hospital in Muscatine, Iowa as a security officer. Anh John also worked for American Honda prior to obtaining employment with the Davenport Police Department. Anh John is bilingual in English and Vietnamese. While attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, Anh John received the 300 Point Club Award for physical fitness.

Officer Kevin Remley grew up in Buffalo, Iowa and graduated from Durant Community High School in 2012. He attended Muscatine Community College for two years and received his Associate of Arts Degree. Kevin then transferred to St. Ambrose University where he graduated in 2016 with his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Criminal Justice, and then received his Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice in 2017. Since graduating from high school, Kevin has worked for the Scott County Conservation Board at West Lake Park as a Park Ranger until being hired as a Davenport Police Officer.

Officer Brittany Taylor grew up in Bismarck, Illinois where she graduated from Bismarck-Henning High School in 2015. Following graduation, Brittany attended Western Illinois University where she earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration with a double minor in Psychology and Sociology. While attending college, Brittany was involved in Athletics, Admissions by being an ambassador as well as being a Resident Assistant. She was a member of a professional Law Enforcement group where she was active in community service. Prior to graduation in 2018, Brittany obtained employment with the Davenport Police Department. While attending the Iowa Law Enforcement Academy, Brittany became secretary of her class. She enjoys working out, reading, and spending time with family and friends.

Officer Joshua Wehde grew up in Clinton, Iowa and graduated from Clinton High School in 2011. In 2015, Joshua graduated from Ashford University. He completed his Bachelor of Arts Degree with majors in History and Social and Criminal Justice with a specialization in Forensics. He served as a Corrections Officer with the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office for three years before accepting a career opportunity with the Davenport Police Department. In his spare time, Joshua enjoys hunting and spending time with this friends and family.
