Want to learn about the gear firefighters wear to a fire or how streets are designated for resurfacing or how Davenport pays for it all? If so, attend Davenport U!
The application period is open until Feb. 23 for the nine-week citizens' academy. The program starts March 26 and ends with graduation on May 23. The Monday sessions are from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. and include light refreshments.
All sessions are on Monday except the Public Works field trip that is on Friday, May 11. Graduation is the May 23 City Council meeting.
Enrollment is limited and participants must be 18 years of age. Attendance to all nine sessions is highly encouraged.
