The City of Davenport is updating its 40 year-old zoning ordinance and would like to hear your feedback!
Four meetings are scheduled over three days, Aug. 1-3. The first is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the City Council Chambers on Wednesday Aug. 1, followed by meetings on Thursday Aug. 2 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Public Works, 1200 E. 46th St., and 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Freight House, 421 W. River Drive. The fourth meeting is from 7:30 a.m. to 9 a.m. at the Quad-City Chamber of Commerce, 331 W. 3rd St.
The product of a year-long effort, this new ordinance will shape Davenport into a more vibrant, sustainable and beautiful community by guiding both new development and re-development decisions.
Attracting quality development to our city is a competitive process. Investors look for communities with clear, modern codes that streamline the process and get projects quickly under construction.
Growing our city and building its tax base remains a top priority for Davenport’s elected officials.
For the past year, city staff and an advisory committee have been working with the consulting firm Camiros which has expertise in developing modern zoning codes.
A preliminary zoning ordinance and map is now available for the public to view on the
project website.
