Zoning ordinance logoThe City of Davenport has embarked on an 18 month process to rewrite the City’s Zoning Ordinance. The Davenport Zoning Rewrite process will help to better preserve, strengthen, and protect the historic patterns of development that define the character of the City, direct investment to targeted areas, and create new opportunities for economic development, helping to make Davenport a more sustainable, livable and business-friendly community.

This effort has included input from City staff, a technical advisory committee, the Plan and Zoning Commission, focus groups and citizens.

It is now time to enter the formal public hearing process. The first public hearing will be held before the Plan and Zoning Commission on Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at 5:00 pm in the Council Chambers.

Copies of the proposed zoning ordinance are available for review at the following locations during normal business hours:

• Davenport City Hall, 226 West 4th St., CPED Offices, 2nd Floor

• Davenport Public Works Center, 1200 East 46th St.

• Davenport Public Library Fairmount Street Branch, 3000 N. Fairmount St.

• Davenport Public Library Eastern Avenue Branch, 6000 Eastern Ave.

• Hilltop Campus Village Offices 122 E. 15th St.

In addition, the documents are available on the project website at www.davenportzoning.com.

Following the public hearing before the Plan and Zoning Commission, the Commission will vote to recommend the Council approve the Ordinance and Map.

The City welcomes comments on the proposed zoning ordinance and map. Contact the Community Planning and Economic Development Department (CPED) for more information.
