What to know for March 17 Council Cycle

March 16, 2021 – After months of preparation, the FY 2022 budget is one step away from being finalized. A required Public Hearing will be held at the Committee of the Whole meeting on March 17, and Council will consider adoption of the FY 2022 Operating Budget, FY 2022 Capital Improvement Budget, and the FY 2022 – FY 2027 Capital Improvement Plan.

The rezoning of 4607 East 53rd Street to C-2 Corridor Commercial District and R-MF Multi-Family Residential District is on its third and final reading. While the protest rate is over 20% requiring 8 votes for passage, the developer has been working closely with City staff and surrounding neighbors to address and mitigate concerns.

The FY 2022 budget includes another record investment in Davenport infrastructure for 2021. Council will consider approving contracts for several street projects this Council cycle, including 5 of the 49 neighborhood streets scheduled to receive work this year, ahead of what will be another busy construction season.
