The City of Davenport is reporting sanitary sewer overflow conditions in areas nearest the riverfront as a result of high river levels combined with rainfall and surcharged sewer lines. This condition will continue until river levels fall and precipitation ends.
With these conditions it is possible manhole covers will be displaced by pressure, both those not covered by river water and those covered by river water. Report displaced manhole covers observed to public works by calling 563.326.7923 during business hours or by submitting a request online at https://yourgov.cartegraph.com/.
It is possible manhole covers currently under river water have come off of their base.
This condition has been reported to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources.
