Governor extends closures of businesses and public gathering places for Davenport, Scott County
On Monday, April 27, 2020, Governor Kim Reynolds extended the State Public Health Emergency Declaration for Davenport and Scott County until Friday, May 15, 2020. Scott County is currently one of 22 counties which the Governor has included in the extended closure.
The declaration, which can be read on the Governor's website, extends the closure of restaurants, gathering places like malls, theaters, concert venues, and most retail stores. Any gatherings of 10 people or more are also banned.
With the extended Public Health Emergency, Davenport residents should continue to stay home, and only leave their homes for essential reasons: to get food, medical care, exercise, or if they are an essential worker required to leave for work.
Many local restaurants and businesses continue to provide curbside pickup or delivery service, and the City encourages its residents to continue to support local purchases.
Traveling to other counties where restaurants or businesses may be open is not advised due to potentially spreading the virus more.
Though parks remain open, the City reminds residents not to gather in groups of 10 or more and to follow social distance guidelines by remaining at least six feet away from others at all times. These guidelines pertain to dog parks as well.
