E Locust Sewer and Pavement Improvements

Friday, October 12th

As of this afternoon, Friday, October 12th, E Locust between Kenwood and Eastmere, including adjacent side streets, has been re-opened to four lanes of travel following sewer and pavement improvements.  Intermittent daytime lane reductions will occur in the next two to three weeks as the contractor continues with finish work and punch list items.​

Friday, September 28th

E Locust sewer and pavement improvements are nearing completion. Sidewalk, catch basins, and general finish work will continue into the week. 

Pavement markings will be applied on October 8th, 9th and 10th, at which time traffic will be moved to the outside lanes.

Work is estimated to be complete by Friday, October 12th.


Friday, September 14th

Pavement and sewer improvements on the south half of E Locust St between Kenwood and Eastmere continues.  Weather and utility work has slightly delayed project completion, however all work is estimated to be complete before Friday, October 12th.   Concrete patching will continue next week, which will be followed by resurfacing and then finish work.


Tuesday, July 31st

Traffic control on E Locust between Kenwood and Eastmere is expected to flip sometime Wednesday, August 1st.  When traffic control flips, traffic will be routed head-to-head in the north lanes. 

The entire project is nearing completion, and estimated to be complete on Friday, September 7th.

Thursday, June 21st
Pending weather, E Locust St near Forest Rd will be reduced to one lane of traffic on Friday, June 22nd for sanitary sewer lateral work.  A flagger will be used to alternate traffic when the lane reduction is placed.  Work is estimated to be complete by the end of the day.

Watch for changing traffic control and expect additional delays when this occurs.

Friday, May 25th
Beginning Tuesday, May 29th, traffic flow on E Locust between Kenwood Ave and Eastmere will flip to the south half of the roadway/eastbound lanes. Traffic will be routed head-to-head in the north/westbound lanes.

Expect on-going travel delay.  Consider an alternate route.

Side streets along this stretch will remain closed at Locust for the entirety of the project.

Work is estimated to be complete on or before Friday, September 7th, pending weather and subsurface conditions.

Friday, May 4th
Motorists should be advised E Locust St may periodically be reduced to one lane beginning Monday, May 7th through Friday, May 11th.  These lane reductions will be necessary for sewer lateral repairs discovered as a result of work on the sewer main in the area west of Kenwood Ave. 

The reduction to one lane is likely only during the day times hours of 7am to 5pm.

If travel must be reduced to one lane for sewer lateral repairs, a flagger will be used to alternate traffic. 

Consider an alternate route. 


Friday, April 27th

Pavement and sewer improvements on E Locust St between Kenwood Ave and Eastmere will begin on Monday, April 30th.

Work will begin with stormwater and sanitary sewer improvements, followed by removal and replacement of the asphalt overlay.

At least one lane of travel in each direction on E Locust will be maintained at all times during construction. Side streets along this stretch will be closed at Locust for the entirety of the project.

Work is estimated to be complete on or before Friday, September 7th, pending weather and subsurface conditions.

Travel delays are to be expected.  Motorists are advised to consider an alternate route.
